Functions of the cell:
There are some important functions in which cells are engage: Photosynthesis, Cellular Respiration and Diffusion.
Photosynthesis: Photosynthesis is the process of combining sunlight with carbon dioxide and water to produce glucose and oxygen. This process is carried out excusively in the chloroplasts of the plant cells(not the animal cell, only plant cells have chloroplasts. By this process plants make food for themselves.
Cellular Respiration: Cellular respiration is the process of breaking down glucose and oxygen to produce carbon dioxide, water and ATP. ATP is a chemical energy that the cell can use for all of its function. This process takes place in mitochondria.
Diffusion: The movement of particles, such as molecules , from an area of high concentration to an area of lower concentration is called diffusion. Plasma membrane that makes the boundary of the cell is a remarkable film. It controls the traffic of substances into and out of the cell. Biological membranes are selectively permeable; that is, they allow some substances to cross more easily than others.
